LAS LAGUNAS, MIJAS COSTA (Andalucìa) - CEIP MARIA ZAMBRANO

Our school is located in "The Costa del Sol", (a famous touristic area on the beach) in the town of Las Lagunas of Mijas (30 Km. far from Málaga).  It is characterized in recent years by an extraordinary population growth and in relation to the school environment, a continuous coming and going of immigrants, many  of them foreigners.The area of our school is very populated; there are many buildings, there is a library, a church, a rail station, many shops, restaurantsAt present there are 750 children on roll and we employ 42 teachers.  The pupils are from 3 to 12 years old.  We have about 30 students with especial needs and an autism classroom.School time es from 9:30 to 14:30 PM.The families of our students are young families, workers, middle class and lower middle, with an approximate percentage of immigrants around 10%.
